Product Information

What does this product come with?

A pack of this product comes with a package insert and a single Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip, which is supplied clean for a single-patient use.

What are the benefits of this product?

Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip is a treatment tip for the radiofrequency-based Thermage system and is specially designed for body sculpting. As mentioned, treatment with Thermage CPT and Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip is able to target bulges and dimpled skin on the body. With a larger surface area and a more uniform heating profile, this treatment tip shortens treatment time and increases the tolerability of body contouring procedures with Thermage CPT.

What is this product made of?

The item is a single-use treatment tip for body-contouring applications with the Thermage CPT system.  Thermage CPT contains a radiofrequency generator, a cryogen unit, and a Handpiece that can have a treatment tip, such as Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip, attached to it. The treatment tip used is with the Thermage CPT system is directly placed on a patient’s skin during treatment and determines the depth and surface area of heating. Other types of treatment tips, all of which are specifically designed for different areas and indications, are available and can be used with Thermage CPT. The Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip is able to deliver a pulse count of 400 or 500 REPs, after which it will stop discharging radiofrequency energy.

How does this work to help my patients?

Body contouring treatments help patients who are dissatisfied with certain aspects of their body due to skin laxity (e.g. sagging, stretch marks, etc.) or body contour issues (e.g. cellulite, unwanted bulges, etc.) achieve the toned and slim shape they desire. With the Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip and the Thermage CPT system, such effects can be achieved in a noninvasive and non-ablative manner.

Thermage CPT works by generating heat via the delivery of monopolar radiofrequency energy pulses, which induce alterations to the collagen present in the dermis and fibrous septae in the subcutaneous fat layers so as to produce a tightening effect. During a procedure with Thermage CPT, the superficial layers of the skin are unaffected. Additionally, volumetric heating also results in the stimulation of the inflammatory cascade that promotes collagen remodeling, resulting in firmer, tauter skin. This effect is slowly achieved in the two to six months after the procedure.

The Thermage CPT system also features a cryogen unit that concurrently delivers a cooling spray together with the radiofrequency pulses, thus helping to keep the skin surface at the optimal temperature. As well, the handpiece can be set to vibrate upon skin contact, which increases patient comfort during treatment.

Use Instructions

How do I use this product?

Thermage CPT treatment with Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip should be administered by a qualified medical practitioner who has received appropriate training. Pre-procedure photographs should be taken to accurately evaluate the results. Start the procedure with the gentle cleansing and removal of makeup on the area to be treated. Place a Return Pad on the patient, typically on their lower back or stomach, to allow for a controlled path for the radiofrequency energy to return to the Thermage CPT instrument. Mark the treatment area with a grid to facilitate pulse placement. Apply copious amounts of Coupling Fluid before delivering energy to the treatment site. Follow a lower-energy, multiple-pass protocol for treatment. Handpiece placement points should be adjacent, but they should not overlap each other. Extra pulses can be targeted at especially problematic areas. Once the procedure is completed, remove the grid and cleanse the treatment area.

How long will the treatment take?

This energy-based treatment produces instant results in a single session. Depending on the area being treated and the condition being treated, one Thermage CPT session can take around 20 minutes to an hour and a half to complete, according to Solta Medical, the manufacturer of Thermage products.

What can I use it for?

With the Body Tip, practitioners can use Thermage CPT for body contouring, including improving cellulite and removing unwanted bulges. In addition, Thermage CPT can also treat skin laxity and sagging in non-facial areas.

What areas should I use this product on?

Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip is suitable for use on non-facial areas such as the thighs, buttocks, arms, abdomen, and hands.

How long do the results last?

The results of Thermage CPT treatment are extremely long-lasting, with patients often seeing effects that last beyond one year.
