Product Information

Where can I get this product?

The Plasmolifting PRP Gel Kit contains the accessories you need to efficiently prepare high quality platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a material used in some anti-aging aesthetic therapies. Purchase this product from Doctor Medica through our website at DoctorMedica.co or by contacting a customer service representative by phone or email.

What does this product come with?

This kit comes with 10 units of 9ml blood collection vacutainer tubes specially made for the Plasmolifting protocol. A product insert is also provided.

What are the benefits of this product?

These medical devices are used in a simple protocol to produce autologous PRP, a concentrate of platelets, cytokines, and growth factors used in many medical applications. These tubes contain an ingredient which enables the effective separation of the desired platelet-enriched fraction from whole blood using a quick centrifugation protocol.

What is this product made of?

These tubes are made of borosilicate medical-grade glass, hermetically sealed with a stopper. The blood collection tubes contain sodium citrate and a thixotropic polymer gel.

How does this work to help my patients?

These medical devices are blood collection tubes that contain a blood anti-coagulant (sodium citrate) to prevent the collected samples from clotting, and an inert polymer gel that is instrumental in separating the platelets from other blood cells. After the brief centrifugation step, whole blood is separated into fractions, one containing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and another consisting of an erythrocyte-leukocyte clot. These segregated blood portions are physically divided by the separating gel, making extraction of the PRP easy to visualize and perform.

Use Instructions

How do I use this product?

The recommended protocol to use PRP Gel kits is as follows:

  • Blood collection
    • Prepare the site of blood sampling by disinfecting skin and applying a tourniquet.
    • Assemble the needle apparatus, attaching the Plasmolifting tube to the vacutainer holder
    • Use the needle to puncture a vein, inserting the needle fully.
    • Push the tube to secure it to the vacutainer system, commencing blood flow.
    • Collect a total of 9ml of blood from the patient
    • After blood sampling is complete, remove the tourniquet and needle. Dispose of the disposable materials appropriately.
    • Apply a clean bandage or gauze and tape to the venipuncture site.
  • Sample Processing
    • Mix the blood sample with the tube additives by inversion of five to six times.
    • Fill a tube with water or saline solution of the same volume of the gel contained in the sample tube and place it inside the centrifuge to properly balance the rotor.
    • Centrifuge for five minutes at 4000rpm. The centrifuge should have a fixed-angle rotor.
    • After centrifugation, the blood sample should be clearly divided into three distinct layers: A clear top layer containing platelets and plasma, with the separating gel in the middle dividing the PRP from the bottom dark colored erythrocyte-leukocyte clot.
  • PRP administration
  • Draw the PRP layer into a sterile disposable syringe.
  • Using a 30G needle, PRP can then be administered to the treatment areas.

Depending on the indication, PRP therapy may require two to ten sessions, administered in intervals ranging from seven to ten days.

How long will the treatment take?

The quick and easy Plasmolifting protocol ensures minimal PRP preparation time, with total patient sessions rarely exceeding 30 minutes in total length. This minimally-invasive procedure comes with the benefit of no downtime for the patient.

What can I use it for?

PRP therapy has numerous indications in many medical fields, including in the medical aesthetic area. Injections of autologous PRP can help patients improve aesthetic concerns like:

  • Signs of aging such as wrinkles and skin laxity
  • Hair loss
  • Excessive pigmentation (hyperpigmentation)
  • Sallow complexion
  • Acne-prone skin and post-acne scarring injuries
  • Sensitive skin
  • Cellulite
  • Skin diseases like eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis

What areas should I use this product on?

PRP therapy can be used on the skin of the face, neck, décolletage, as well as the back of the hands and feet to minimize wrinkles and lift skin.

How long do the results last?

The collagen-stimulating properties of PRP therapy increase the longevity of treatment, with most patients experiencing benefits up to 18 months after therapy.
