What Is AQUALYX® Used For?
AQUALYX® is used for localized or spot removal of fat from specific areas of the body. These include:- Back
- Chin
- Hips
- Knees
- Stomach
- Thighs
When Not to Use AQUALYX®
AQUALYX® is not indicated for use in individuals who:- Are pregnant
- Are lactating/breastfeeding
- Are diabetic or have lipodystrophy (complete or partial loss of and/or abnormal distribution of fat tissue in targeted areas of the body)
- Are taking blood-thinning medication (such as warfarin)
- Have autoimmune conditions such as scleroderma
- Have liver or kidney disease (since extra fat processing can overwork the liver)
- Polymer from 3, 6-Anhydro-L-Galactose and D-Galactose (0.5%)
- Buffer systems (4.2%)
- Sodium salt of (3α, 5α, 12α) - 3, 12-dihydroxy-5-cholan-24-acid (7.5%)
AQUALYX® Administration Technique
AQUALYX® should be administered only by a licensed medical professional after thorough consultation with the patient. The general procedure of the treatment is as follows:- The doctor administers a local anesthetic before the treatment. In some cases, you may mix in the anesthetic with the AQUALYX® solution and inject it together. Both methods help minimize patient discomfort during the procedure.
- You then inject the AQUALYX® solution into the targeted area of the body. You may use an ultrasound device in conjunction to assist the dissipation of fat cells.
AQUALYX® Side Effects
AQUALYX® side effects are mild and generally last for only three to six days. The most common side effects include:- Transient nodules (16.36%)
- Pain lasting more than 48 hours (48.54%)
- Light bruising (72.58%)
- Swelling (88.76%)
- Allergic reactions (0.003%)
- Permanent skin nodules (0.005%)
