BOTOX® Cosmetic 100u is a sterile, vacuum-dried formulation of onabotulinumtoxinA, a purified botulinum toxin type A produced by Clostridium botulinum. It is used for intramuscular injection to achieve temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles in adults. Specifically, it targets glabellar lines, lateral canthal lines, forehead lines, and platysma bands. The product works by blocking neuromuscular transmission, which reduces muscle activity and smoothens facial expressions responsible for wrinkle formation.

Its effects begin within 24–48 hours of injection, peak in about 1–2 weeks, and typically last for 3–4 months, depending on the treatment area and individual patient response. BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA-approved and manufactured by AbbVie, offering a high safety and efficacy profile when administered by trained professionals.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered intramuscularly using a 30–33 gauge needle after reconstitution with preservative-free 0.9% Sodium Chloride.
