Most people with sensitive skin are unable to reap the benefits of chemical peels due to possible irritation. Thanks to Filorga Light Peel, individuals with sensitive skin can now get rid of fine lines and wrinkles and enjoy smoother, rejuvenated skin safely. Aside from its anti-aging benefits, this peel also reduces visible pores and moisturizes dry and dull skin.
Filorga Light Peel is formulated with a 20% peel complex, which is comprised of gluconolactone and mandelic acid. It should be used with the Filorga Pre-Peel solution, which contains gluconolactone, as well as Filorga’s post-peel solution, which is made of pure sodium bicarbonate.
The main ingredient of this chemical peel is mandelic acid—a gentle alpha hydroxy acid derived from bitter almonds. It works by penetrating deep into the skin and breaking down dull, hyper-pigmented, and sun damaged cells. The molecular weight and size of mandelic acid is larger than other AHAs used in peeling, thus it takes more time for it to penetrate the skin’s surface. However, it is also less irritating. It is powerful enough to remove uneven skin patches and blackheads, treat cystic acne, and repair photo-aged skin.
Clean and prime your patient’s skin using the Pre-Peel solution to remove impurities and balance the skin’s pH. Apply the peel solution uniformly on the skin using the integrated brush. Because it takes longer for mandelic acid to penetrate the skin, your patients will not immediately feel the usual stinging or warm feeling associated with chemical peels. After 3 minutes, apply the Post-Peel solution, then rinse and neutralize the acid using a cotton pad soaked in water.
The whole process my take up to 30 minutes, including priming and neutralization. Filorga Light Peel is better tolerated by people with sensitive skin, and is mild enough for pregnant and breastfeeding women. What’s more, unlike other peeling solutions, this skin-friendly chemical peel does not cause photosensitivity. However, you still need to instruct your patients to avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear sunscreen after undergoing this treatment.
This treatment works for individuals with dry, sensitive, normal, oily, or combination skin. Though its therapeutic benefits are optimized for sensitive skin, it works just like any chemical peel for all skin types. It is also an excellent initial peel for first time users.
Medical-grade peels are designed to gradually peel away the top layer of the skin and reveal new and improved skin with less wrinkles, dark spots, and visible pores. Medical practitioners often use Filorga Light Peel on the face, neck, and hands.
The effects of mandelic acid are not immediate. Depending on the severity of your patient’s condition, you may need to suggest multiple appointments (3–6 peels) to see the full effect of the treatment. Some patients reported positive effects after the third peel. Regular peeling using a mild AHA, like the one in Filorga Light Peel, will create bright, radiant, and smooth skin after a few sessions.
Filorga Light Peel is 1 of the gentler chemical peels on the market today. It adds a healthy glow to your patient’s skin, without causing excessive irritation or redness. Because it’s difficult for those with sensitive skin to find a product that is gentle yet potent enough to remove dark spots and wrinkles, this peel makes a great addition to their skin care regimen.
This product is intended for patients of all skin types, especially those with hypersensitive or reactive skin. Patients who want to prevent premature aging will benefit from regular peeling sessions with Filorga Light Peel.
Filorga Light Peel contains a mild AHA, so no downtime is expected after the treatment. Your patients may experience micro-peeling, pink, or slightly sensitive skin, as well as purging (for acne-prone skin) after the treatment, but these issues should resolve in 2–3 days. Consult the product leaflet for a full list of side effects, precautions, and contraindications.
