This product is made of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (8 mg/ml concentration), dissolved in physiologic saline, that has been processed to form a hydrogel, called HYADD4. The hydrogel is a result of a proprietary manufacturing process that does not involve cross-linking. When injected, the product lubricates and cushions the joint, supplementing the function originally served by synovial fluid.
