Restylane and Juvederm are brands of cross-linked hyaluronic-acid based fillers. Each brand has a wide range of fillers, with each filler indicated for specific concerns. Restylane Lyft is a filler that many patients and doctors use for correcting volume loss in areas such as the cheeks. When comparing this filler to Juvederm, Juvederm Voluma would be the equivalent injectable of choice. Like Lyft, Voluma is used to correct volume loss and is often used for patients experiencing hollowing in the cheek area.
Target treatment areas
Restylane Lyft, a dermal product indicated for the treatment of contour deficiencies in the mid-face, as well as cheek augmentation. Juvederm Voluma, on the other hand, is intended to provide volume restoration in the mid-face region, particularly around the cheeks.
How does the effectiveness and safety of Restylane Lyft compare with Juvederm Voluma?
Juvederm is a brand of monophasic soft tissue fillers that are made of varying concentrations of cross-linked hyaluronic acid. There are two major filler collections under the wider Juvederm brand: Ultra and Vycross. These collections are differentiated on the basis of the patented processing technology used, which is either Hylacross or Vycross. Of all the fillers available from this brand, Juvederm Voluma closely matches Restylane Lyft, as it is also indicated to augment mid-face volume deficiencies and is sometimes used in an off-label manner to correct moderate to deep-set facial wrinkles and treat the dorsal part of the hands.
Reviews of Restylane Lyft and Juvederm Voluma
Though both cosmetic fillers are made using cross-linked hyaluronic acid molecules, the injectable Juvederm gel exists in a single phase. Both Restylane Lyft and Juvederm Voluma were compared in the “Cheek Challenge” by Dr. Weiner, in which the test subject was injected with 3cc of Restylane Lyft in the right cheek and 3cc of Juvederm Voluma in the left cheek. The patients reported that the right cheek felt lifted compared to the other. This could be due to the superior elasticity and lifting properties of Restylane Lyft, which is evident in the fact that its G prime value is, at 554, higher than Juvederm Voluma’s elastic modulus value of only 274. Nevertheless, both fillers are capable of delivering impressive aesthetic improvements if used correctly. Restylane Lyft is more suitable for filling facial wrinkles and lifting the mid-face, while Juvederm Voluma works best at volumizing and augmenting the cheeks.
If you’re looking for the best cheek filler, talk to your doctor about your concerns. Based on your desired results, your doctors will determine whether Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft is best for you.
