It functions as an acetylcholine release inhibitor and neuromuscular blocking agent, providing localized muscle relaxation when injected intramuscularly. This product is primarily used for glabellar lines, lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet), and forehead lines. The formulation includes botulinum toxin type A derived from Clostridium botulinum, and is presented as a vacuum-dried powder for reconstitution. Approved since 1989 in the U.S., it is widely used in aesthetic medicine for its precision and duration of effect, which typically lasts 3 to 4 months per treatment session.
