How to Prepare LIZTOX® for Administration
To prepare LIZTOX® for injection, you’ll need to follow these steps:
- Dilute LIZTOX® with sterile, preservative-free 0.9% sodium chloride. Make sure that you follow the dilution guide below.
- Gently add the saline to the LIZTOX® vial to prevent any product denaturation from too much movement.
- Discard the vial if no vacuum seal forms after adding the dilutent.
- After mixing, the solution should appear clear and colorless.
- Refrigerate the diluted solution at 2-8°C and use it within 24 hours due to the lack of preservatives.
- Apply a one-vial-per-patient rule for safety and effectiveness.
Dilution guide:
- For 1.0 mL of added dilutent (0.9% sodium chloride injection), the resulting concentration will be 20.0U (U/0.1mL)
- For 2.0 mL of added dilutent (0.9% sodium chloride injection), the resulting concentration will be 10.0U (U/0.1mL)
- For 4.0 mL of added dilutent (0.9% sodium chloride injection), the resulting concentration will be 5.0U (U/0.1mL)
- For 8.0 mL of added dilutent (0.9% sodium chloride injection), the resulting concentration will be 2.50U (U/0.1mL)
Caution: This dilution is calculated based on a 0.1 mL injection volume.
